It is a common misconception that the Netherlands has the steepest stairs in the world. While some Dutch houses may have steep stairs, there is no evidence to suggest that they are the steepest in the world.
In fact, there are many places around the world that have very steep stairs, such as the Stairs of Repentance in the island of Amorgos, Greece, or the Haiku Stairs in Oahu, Hawaii. These stairs are much steeper than the average Dutch staircase.
